Rule Name: Color Table Size

Definition

All of the Color Tables within a Color Table Group must be of the same size; that is, all Color Tables within a Color Table Group must have the same number of Primitive Colors. This is a requirement in order to allow the Color Tables within a Color Table Group to be interchangeable. However, Color Tables within a Color Table Group are free to have different types of Primitive Colors from each other (e.g., some using Specular Colors, some not).

Rationale

This is a requirement in order to allow the Color Tables within an Color Table Group to be interchangeable.

Example

  1. An Color Table Group contains three Color Tables: one for an Out-The-Window view, one for a RADAR view, and one for an Infra-Red view. All three Color Tables contain 234 Primitive Colors. Entry 234 in each Color Table contains a Primitive Color for the representation of "granite" in the three different domains.
