Rule Name: Feature Edge Restrictions
Definition
- The Locations within a
Feature Edge must be distinct (i.e., no 2 may
have the same coordinates).
- Feature Edges may meet only at
Feature Nodes, and
Feature Faces may meet only along one or
more Feature Edges.
- At feature topology level
2 or higher, no Feature Edge may intersect
with or overlap another Feature Edge.
- At feature topology level
3, each Feature Edge forms part of the
boundaries of exactly two Feature Faces.
Rationale
The path defined by the sequence of line segments which connect the
consecutive Locations that make up a
Feature Edge must not intersect or overlap
itself.
