Class Name: Contact Point

Superclass - SEDRIS Abstract Base

Definition

An identified location and orientation that run-time systems can identify as a place where intersection tests should occur. (For example, when landing an airplane, it's nice to know where the bottom of the wheels are, so a landing gear Model could use a Contact Point to identify this location).

Primary Page in DRM Diagram:

Example

  1. The bottom of the wheels when the landing gear is fully extended on an aircraft.
  2. The hitch point on a train or pickup truck.
  3. The endpoint of a loading ramp on a roll-on-roll-off ship.
