Definition

Information associated with a variety of SEDRIS objects used for a variety of purposes, e.g. for 2D or 3D rendering, interpretation, and/or simulation. Includes, for example:

• Acoustic Response:
  Changes to characteristics of objects in response to acoustic stimuli.
  Primitives: A response enumeration (echo, phase shift, absorption diffraction, etc.) frequency, and factor (a percentage).
  For example:
  • Resonant frequency of a plate.
• Electromagnetic Emission:
  The emission characteristics of a geometric object or feature including the electromagnetic wavelengths, amplitudes, and directionality.

  For example:
  1. The thermal signature of a rock at noon is described by its Electromagnetic Emission.
  2. The headlight of a truck.
• Electromagnetic Response:
  Changes to characteristics of objects in response to electromagnetic stimuli.
  Primitives: A response enumeration (heats up, reflects, etc.), frequency, and factor (a percentage).
  For example:
  • Reflective and specular characteristics of a surface.
• Hydrology:
  Attribute of a Point, Patch, Polygon, or some topological feature that describes aspects of the flow of water at a location or on a surface.
  For example:
  • The average speed of currents in the stream bed is represented in the hydrology property of the Polygons that make up Salmon Creek.
• Metrics:
  Measurements that relate to scalar properties. Some information .
  For example:
  • The elevation at a location.
• Soil:
  Attribute of a Point, Patch, Polygon, or some topological feature that describes the soil composition at a location or on a surface.
  For example:
  The clay soil present in the Areal Feature labeled as "Red Field".
• Surface Material ( EDCS_AC_SURFACE_MATERIAL_CATEGORY):
  The man-made materials that can be found on any surface.
  For example:
  Cloth, carpet, asphalt, silk, metal, etc. Wood, when part of a table, is represented by EDCS_AC_SURFACE_MATERIAL_CATEGORY; when part of a tree, it is represented by EDCS_AC_VEGETATION_CHARACTERISTIC.
• Vegetation ( EDCS_AC_VEGETATION_CHARACTERISTIC):
  Attribute of a Point, Patch, Polygon, or some topological feature that indicates the type of vegetation at a location or on a surface.
  For example:
  The vegetation property "Tall Grass" associated with an Areal Feature.
